Calling out all the small businesses/aspiring bloggers out there. If you've read my previous post on how to develop a brand, then you'll know that I've been more and more interested in the idea of branding and the design part of it.
I'm new to this but having designed a few logos and things, I can say that it's one of my favorite things to do. The whole process is so exciting - helping bring an idea to life and creating something from scratch gives you that feeling of satisfaction (and sometimes frustration, when you're just not getting it. We've all been there).
But most of all, I understand what it's like to be struggling as a small business or as a new and tiny player in this industry of social media. So here's my proposal: if you've been thinking about revamping your brand, or getting a logo to jazz up your website and your whole look, I'm taking on 5 branding projects with 50% off my normal pricing (prices can be found here). Sometimes the hardest thing about starting a business is taking that first step, and so I thought maybe a gentle little push is what some of you need. I've been listening to Debbie Millman's podcast and the one concept that really caught my attention was design for good. Now I know this is not going to change the world or do anything extraordinary, but I think it'd be great to be able to help other small businesses thrive. I've always been interested in the idea of creating a small community of some sort where small businesses or like minds can share and bounce ideas off of each other. I'm planning on creating a tiny platform for those of you who want to join me in this experiment, to share what it is like to work for yourself, develop your own brand, et cetera. We can start by first materializing your ideas into a logo to represent your brand. But if you've done that part and you're still interested in sharing your thoughts and ideas, please do so! Everyone is welcome.
I look forward to hearing your thoughts!
